Jim Mims has over 30 years of leadership experience and is Founder and Managing Partner of Leadership Alternative. Throughout his diverse and successful career, Jim has established himself as a leader and mentor working with companies of all sizes. These companies include manufacturers, major financial institutions, non-profits, business and technology consulting firms, and major technology & business process outsourcing companies.
At Leadership Alternative, Jim provides creativity and high performance thought processes to every Leadership development opportunity. He has a successful track record of mentoring leaders at all levels. His personal and organizational integrity enables leaders from CEOs to front-line managers to rely on him as both their personal and professional mentor.
As a trusted advisor, Jim combines a rare balance of business, technical and leadership skills with real-life experience. This balance enables him to take the best techniques from books, seminars, and practical knowledge to provide real leading edge but sensible solutions to problems leaders face every day.
Prior to founding Leadership Alternative, Jim was a founding partner of Fluid Consulting, a CIO at JayHawk Acceptance and DARC Corporation, and a manager at EDS (an HP Company). The impact of his leadership, business, technical expertise along with his character and integrity are still evident in these companies and the clients he has served.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Indiana University – Kelley School of Business and is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He serves as Chairman of a Private School Board, Chairman of the Board of his Church and provides his leadership experience to numerous charitable organizations and causes. In his spare time, Jim enjoys his family, and leads mission trips and relief efforts both domestic and abroad.
